Did you guys know that Fran Drescher is an amazing woman? In 1987 her and her husband’s home was invaded while she had friends over, she and her friend were raped at gunpoint while her husband was made to watch as another person ransacked the entire apartment. She went to every single court hearing and relived the nightmare over again each hearing, and got to see her attacker get served with two lifetime jail sentences. In 2000 she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and had to receive a hysterectomy, which was traumatic for her since she had desperately wanted children. In 2008 she earned the title of Public Diplomacy Envoy for Women’s Health Issues. She is also and has been from the start of her career a vocal advocate for human rights and is a staunch political supporter of LGBT equality and rights. Through it all, she keeps a positive outlook on life which is what I am most inspired by and try to embody myself and demonstrate to others; “My whole life has been about changing negatives into positives” Fran said in an interview Larry King. She is famous for her unforgettably unique laugh, and fittingly so.
